About Montessori Northwest

Since 1979, our Montessori teacher training center in Portland, Oregon has offered rigorous, practical and in-depth adult education, in affiliation with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). The quality of our graduates reflects the quality of our training: knowledgeable and compassionate, with a teaching practice grounded in a thorough understanding of Montessori principles and child development.

For many students, studying at MNW is a transformative experience. From our beautiful and comfortable training space to our friendly and helpful staff, we strive to support our students in every way possible.

What We Do

Montessori Northwest (MNW), located in SE Portland, Oregon, provides AMI Montessori teacher training at the Assistants to Infancy (ages 0 - 3), Primary (ages 3 - 6), and Elementary (ages 6 - 12) levels, and serves as a hub of activity within the Montessori community. We also offer parent education, continuing education workshops, community education and personalized staff development for Montessori professionals.

MNW is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Association Montessori Internationale,  Marylhurst University, and Loyola University Maryland. Our Primary diploma course is fully accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE).
