MNW works to facilitate and support the thriving Montessori community on a local and regional scale. However, we recognize that we're not the sole keepers of knowledge. We instead recognize the need to support the community through facilitating connections with and among teachers, schools, and parents.
Pints of Interest
Pints of Interest is your chance to informally come together and connect with others in the Portland Montessori community to discuss some of the most relevant topics of our craft. Catch up with friends and make new connections. Share what's working in your classrooms and get advice on challenges. Think about the “big picture.” Montessorians working at all levels and positions are welcome.
Helping Hands is designed to bring together Montessori educators and special education professionals to discuss strategies and ideas for supporting children with special needs. These informal discussions will help participants create a network with each another, and use our combined expertise to strategize effective modifications that work within a Montessori structure, in order to set reasonable goals and evaluate interventions.
Some Elementary Educators Discussing School - Join your Elementary community at MNW to discuss best-practices and classroom strategies. Each event will have a facilitator to guide discussion, and decide upon topics for the next meeting. SEEDS will meet on the third Saturday of the month, September through April (no meeting in December), from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
Our AMI teacher trainers have extensive experience guiding teachers, administrators, and support staff to enrich their classrooms and enhance their school's profile. Currently, trainer schedules are determined a year in advance. If your school program would like support beyond the events above, please contact MNW Community Education Director, Braden Pemberton (email), to discuss trainer availability and fees for on-site visits.
