FREE INFORMATION SESSION ON MONTESSORI EDUCATION AND TEACHER TRAINING

MONTESSORI GEOMETRY FROM PRIMARY TO ELEMENTARY

THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 2019, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Join AMI 6-12 Trainer Ellen Lebitz for a free public lecture about the Montessori approach to geometry. This approach is based on the understanding that children are natural explorers, discovering relationships between ideas in order to classify their knowledge. Children in Montessori environments have scaffolded, dynamic experiences observing and interacting with geometric concepts and materials. The adult in a Montessori environment collaborates with the children, facilitating the discoveries of geometric relationships and concepts through activity.

“What was true then is true today: experience and activity are necessary, in order to make intelligence expand and acquire greater understanding.” - Maria Montessori, The Human Tendencies and Montessori Education

This lecture is designed for anybody who is curious about Montessori, including parents, nannies, and those who are thinking about Montessori teacher training.

Location:  Montessori Northwest, 622 SE Grand Ave. Portland, OR, 97214 (map)
