Since our founding in 1979, Montessori Northwest has educated adults on the nature of childhood. For 40 years MNW has provided community education, professional development, and rigorous teacher training in affiliation with the Association Montessori Internationale--preparing individuals for life-changing careers around the globe working with children ages 0-12. In 2015 we opened Alder Montessori, an early-learning classroom serving children living in poverty. That year we also launched new programs in California and Washington, making MNW one of the largest training centers of its kind in the world.

Through the stewardship of its previous Executive Directors, Rita Schaeffer-Zener, Shannon Helfrich, Ginni Sackett, and Jennifer Davidson, and with the guidance of current Program Director Sarah Werner Andrews alongside a vibrant Board of Directors, Montessori Northwest advances the international Montessori movement through high-quality, in-depth adult and child education.
