So, What is the Blended Format Anyway?
If you are like most AMI Montessori trained people, your training was an amazing, transformative experience, and it is hard to imagine how AMI training could possibly be given in a blended format - I mean, REALLY? AMI training online??
Well, the times, they are a changin’. Following the trends in higher education offering alternatives to the traditional 4-year college experience and our desire to make Montessori training more accessible, MNW had online training options in our strategic planning well before the pandemic forced everyone into Zoom rooms.
“Once I found out that this course would be offered in a blended format I knew it was the perfect time to apply. Being able to work full-time and fulfill my financial responsibilities while completing the program was incredibly important to me, and this adjusted format makes that much more possible.”
A lot has changed in AMI Training, but the essentials have not. At MNW, we are still committed to the highest standards in Montessori teacher preparation, our training is still transformative, fun, a lot of work, and most importantly, inspiring.
“Our cohort is so amazingly supportive of one another. Also, the trainers, course assistant, and all pedagogical staff are fantastic.”
“I really love the Zoom classes! I thought it was going to be challenging to focus and learn effectively via Zoom but I was wrong!”
Blended training combines in-person blocks in the training center's prepared environment with distance learning blocks via Zoom. The onsite and distance blocks are organized a little differently for each program, but all include the same depth of theory, lively, meticulous presentations of materials, and community building.
Nearly all of the guided/supervised practice hours required by AMI are conducted onsite in the prepared environment, but in the blended programs, students can also continue working in their classrooms while training. This experience brings the theory to life in a very tangible way, and provides additional practice with materials extending the “practicum” aspects of the program.
We’ve all been surprised by how effective and fun the Blended Training format can be. Although we continue to refine and develop this format, and all of our programs at MNW, we are excited by the opportunities that the Blended Training format offers. We are confident that our students will graduate with the same high quality Montessori teacher preparation that AMI is known for throughout the world.
