What I do at MNW
AMI 6–12 Trainer, supporting adult learners in diploma courses, orientation courses, and workshops.

What I like about MNW
I am still new to the team, so my experience is limited—but even in these early steps, I’ve sensed the depth of intention behind the work being done at MNW. There is a clear commitment to honoring the rigor and depth of AMI training, while also exploring new ways to reach more educators. That speaks directly to what I hope to do as a trainer: to make the intellectual, scientific, and spiritual preparation of the adult more accessible to those who are deeply motivated—not just educators, but individuals who see this work as a path toward social transformation.

My Commitment to ABAR Work
As a Montessori adult guide, my commitment to ABAR work begins with the understanding that each human being carries a unique history, culture, and potential—and that education must actively support the dignity and liberation of all.

  • Self-Reflection: I engage in continuous inner work to recognize how my own experiences, assumptions, and position shape the way I see adults and children and the choices I make in the environment. This reflective practice is essential to my role as a prepared adult.

  • Guiding with Intention: I choose stories, materials, and language that reflect the diversity of human experience and challenge dominant narratives. I pay close attention to whose voices are centered, and whose are missing. In Cosmic Education especially, I aim to offer a vision of unity that includes justice.

  • Creating Space for Dialogue: I support adult, children, and colleagues, in asking hard questions, exploring identity, and noticing injustice, all within a space of mutual respect and deep listening. I try to model what it means to speak up with care, to admit mistakes, and to remain open to learning.

For me, ABAR work is not separate from Montessori—it is the moral work of preparing an environment, and of preparing ourselves, so that each human being can construct themselves fully, freely, and joyfully within a world they have the power to shape.

PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Allan Nguyen is an AMI 6–12 trainer and longtime Montessori educator dedicated to supporting transformative education in diverse settings. He earned his AMI Elementary Diploma from Montessori-CH in 2008 and has over 20 years of experience in Montessori education. After two years as an assistant in a 6–12 environment, he spent 15 years as a lead guide—10 in upper elementary and 5 in lower elementary.

He has worked with private, public, rural, and community-based Montessori programs across Switzerland, Canada, New Caledonia, Panama, and Tanzania. Allan is currently leading the development of a new AMI 6–12 diploma course in South Africa, set to launch in 2026.

He now lives in Cambutal, a remote village in Panama, where he initially came to support a small Montessori school in transition—but mostly, he came to follow his partner, who is doing the beautiful work of launching the project. As the local team grows more autonomous, his role has shifted toward mentoring and occasional consultation, allowing him to focus on international training work.

Allan is especially passionate about the spiritual and intellectual preparation of the adult, and about connecting Montessori education with broader efforts toward social renewal. He currently trains adults through diploma courses, orientation programs, and workshops with Montessori Northwest.
